Business Angel – Individuals investing in new businesses, including venture capital firms. These are professionals with experience in business: successful entrepreneurs, highly paid business professionals (accountants, consultants, lawyers, etc.), and senior executives in large companies. They use their funds (savings) for investing, which can range from several tens to several hundreds of thousands of dollars. For example, in Great Britain in 1997 a single investment of a “business angel” averaged from $16,000 to $80,000.
