New York City has won funding from the National Science Foundation and a consortium of wireless networking companies as part of the “Platform for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) program.

The city’s West Harlem neighborhood will create a testbed for high-bandwidth, low-latency wireless communications, which will also research millimeter-wave and dynamic optical switching
