What is green economics and how does it affect us?  Green economics highlights the most important resources that man has, the Earth, and ourselves.  The goal supports the idea of a man living in harmony with the Earth while continuing to progress technologically for our greater good as a whole. Green economists are quick to assert that all money decisions are accountable to the ecosystem and sustainable development for both humans and the Earth so they can co-exist.

In the past, if one had a business and made changes on or to the Earth, the Earth would suffer or pay for our economic decisions.  Being green was often a big financial sore for many businesses to take into account when doing their ledgers.  New solutions and common wisdom have come up through the innovative research and applications of internet technology companies (IT) who work selfishly day and night to provide a sustainable planet and sustainable economics simultaneously.  Both business and the environment can be a “win-win” situation. We now have via green economics a catalyst for innovation. There are huge new market opportunities and much wealth in the making without harming the Earth.

Green Economics and Soaring Trends

Many experts and business innovators in the field of green energy and its relationship to green economics are hyped up with the new technologies arising every day, from electric cars to types of regulated and monitored solar energy.  Smart technology offers us new avenues in dealing with management solutions in the green economy. Some hot topics include water resources and management, waste management, and a collection of other highly sought-after solutions. We are going to zoom in and take a quick look at three important sectors of the leading trends and how IT companies are having their presence become a reality.  What happens when we connect these to the smart grid system devised by the IT companies?

  • Smart Grid Renewable Energy –  The smart grid is very important in the sustainability of renewable energies and is in high global demand.  Most of the older renewable energy resources are located in remote areas outside of man’s daily habitat.  The main power demand is in urban areas.  Networking for renewable energy will soar through smart appliances, energy conservation software, and other smart avenues of management.
  • Smart Cars and Sustainable Cars – These will not only be for the rich. With the increasing flow to urban areas,  economics is increasing enabling luxury living for all. IT companies are flocking to the automotive industry to help make a brighter and more sustainable future.
  • Intelligent Green Buildings –  The IoT, also known as “The Internet of Things” has opened a whole new door to green building. Dark data that could not previously be analyzed is now brought to light. New levels of sustainability are being reached giving mega insight into energy and resource use and the factors to control the usage of these resources.  The intelligent building management system is taking buildings to a height of sustainability never reached before.

Challenges and Solutions for Green Economics

A very optimistic view of going green for corporations is not all of the stories.  For many of the former companies before smart technology stepped in, going green to comply with environmental requirements would cause economic disaster.  Short-term solutions for long-term problems are hastily applied.  These corporations are like the frogs who eat their own homes (the lily pads) and face possible extinction.  Many are under the understanding that we must consume our environment to grow the economy.  Without the environment, we will have no economy.  No environment equals no green economy.

The green economy is swiftly becoming digitized.  No more eating ourselves.  Communication is digitized, and all are connected through the Internet of Things (IoT).  The renewable energy network is connected to the computer-automated transportation system, which is connected to the people as we are all connected to the Internet of things, including the green economy. Sensors will be embedded into every tool and device including waste management and monitoring.  All tools and devices will be able to communicate with each other at the push of a switch or button, including humans through the internet of things which will save our green economy and make it a smart green economy, which is a reality today.

Green Economics is Required for Our Sustainability as a Whole

Green economics is a survival strategy.  The way we grow as a whole using our vital resources from our environment with the utmost care so we do not have to fear a future without our basic needs or jobs.  The economically unstable would suffer the most if we do not maintain a green economy, as their very survival and livelihoods are directly on the line and they depend upon the water, land, seas, and forests to survive. Challenges are constantly facing us as a whole.  We are constantly seeking an answer to climate change.  Our water is becoming of concern.  Ecosystem loss, biodiversity, and natural disasters threaten our very survival as a whole, and this is why green economics is so important to us as a whole.
